The thermal solar system supplied by SenerSol has now been in operation for three months; July, August, September ‘23. The performance of the system has been impressive as the oil boiler has only run for one hour during this three-month period. It is particularly impressive because this summer has been very overcast and wet apart for one week at the beginning of September. As the house has recently been retrofitted with new windows and extensive insulation it does not need room heating for at least six months of the year so during this period imported energy is purely for domestic hot water and previously either the oil boiler or the electric immersion heater would have been used daily. The entire process is an excellent example of what can be achieved with a 40-year-old building.
